Does the IRS come to your house during an audit?

The Internal Revenue Service can hold an audit just about anywhere, including your home. When an IRS revenue agent visits your home or your office, it's called a field audit. A correspondence audit is done through the mail, and an office audit is held in an IRS office with an official IRS auditor.
