Paying Your Taxes by Credit Card

Recently, IRS began offering a convenient method of paying your taxes: by credit card. You can use your American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa credit card.

Convenience aside, you should be careful about using this payment method. Most of the options demand that you pay a "convenience" fee for using your card. Fee may vary between the providers. Also, if you will not be paying off your balance right away, the interest your credit card charges may be much higher than the interest the IRS charges for late payment.
